This talk proposes a collective reflection on the circulation of photographic works (from images to photobooks and zines) within and beyond the Global South. Rather than a conventional presentation, the session will follow the format of a Tajmâat, inspired by the Tamazight concept of a communal gathering where participants sit in a circle to engage in dialogue on matters of shared concern. The aim is to bring together photographers, and the public to think collectively about distribution as both a political and cultural act. The discussion will explore how works travel, who has access to them, and what local or informal systems support their circulation.
Cette table ronde propose une réflexion collective sur la circulation des œuvres photographiques (des images aux livres photo et aux zines) au sein et au-delà des pays du Sud. Plutôt qu'une présentation conventionnelle, la session suivra le format d'un Tajmâat, inspiré du concept tamazight, d'une prise de parole collective où les participants s'assoient en cercle pour dialoguer sur des questions d'intérêt commun. L'objectif est de réunir des photographes et le public afin de réfléchir collectivement à la distribution en tant qu'acte à la fois politique et culturel. La discussion explorera comment les œuvres voyagent, qui y a accès et quels systèmes locaux ou informels soutiennent leur circulation.

In 1970, while a student at the Harvard Graduate School of Education, Susan Meiselas was living in a boarding house at 44 Irving Street in Cambridge, Massachusetts. What began as a class project evolved into a deeply empathetic portrait of community domestic life.

This panel discussion brings together authors of recently published photobooks that explore embodied, conceptual and spiritual experiences of the natural world. The conversation will draw connections and distinctions between the artists' creative practices, including the role of research, intuition, and play; how each works with, represents, or challenges concepts of "nature"; and in what ways each responds to the ecological challenges of our time.
Cette table ronde réunit quatre autrices de livres photos récemment publiés qui explorent les expériences incarnées, conceptuelles et spirituelles du monde naturel. La conversation mettra en évidence les liens et les différences entre les pratiques créatives des artistes, notamment le rôle de la recherche, de l'intuition et du jeu ; la manière dont chacun travaille, représente ou remet en question les concepts de « nature » ; et la manière dont chacun répond aux défis écologiques de notre époque.

In connection the publication of JH Engström’ new book we invite you to an open and intuitive conversation between JH Engström and David Campany circling around still images, moving images and books.
JH Engström, an inveterate bookmaker, is looking back at 35 years of work. Not with the ambition to present a "best of" or to resume previous work or books. But with the ambition to celebrate the movements, the energies, the searching, the reflection, the attempts and the doing. Everything roughly scanned directly from the contact sheets. The previously unpublished images are combined with texts written by Engström, throughout the book.

JH Engström, faiseur invétéré de livres, revient sur 35 ans de travail. Non pas avec l’ambition de présenter un « best of » ou de réinterpréter ses travaux et livres antérieurs. Mais avec la volonté de célébrer le mouvement, les énergies, la recherche, la réflexion, les tentatives et l’action. Tout cela directement à partir de planches contact grossièrement scannées. Ces images inédites sont accompagnées tout au long du livre de textes écrits par Engström.
On the occasion of the exhibition "Face à ce qui se dérobe, les clichés de la folie" at the musée Nicéphore Niépce in Chalon-sur-Saône from October 17, 2025, to January 18, 2026, on the links between photography and psychiatry, we’re thrilled to host a dialogue between Emilie Bernard, co-curator of the exhibition, Emmanuelle Vieillard, Nicéphore Niépce Museum, Alice Aigrain, Phd in history of photography and Hermann Lohss, social worker in psychiatry and photography books collector who will present his collection of photography books on psychiatry. A CONVERSATION WITH PAUL GRAHAM : THE ART OF BOOK MAKING
Paul Graham is one of the most prolific creators of contemporary photo books. We will delve into the process of making a book with him. He will share with us the way he conceived and constructed his photo books throughout his career, presenting us with artistic objects that move and enlighten us, personal, experimental, and political narratives that have helped shape the history of the photography book. Paul Graham est l'un des plus prolifiques créateurs de livres photo contemporains. Nous nous plongerons avec lui dans le processus de fabrication d'un livre. Il nous dira comment il a pensé et construit ses livres photos tout au long de sa carrière en nous proposant des objets artistiques qui nous touchent et nous éclairent, des récits personnels, expérimentaux et politiques qui ont contribué à bâtir l’histoire du livre de photographie.
On this occasion, looking back on more than 30 years of photographic production, Paul Graham will talk to us about his history with books, the back-and-forth between exhibition spaces and printed pages. We will discuss the themes of self-publishing, collaboration with publishers, and the various people involved in the making of a book. We will ask him about the role of books in our contemporary matters and the balance between aesthetic necessity and social reality.
